Attachment Patterns Impact Homeless Youth

Attachment patterns developed in early childhood may affect how homeless youth interpret and respond to programs aimed at helping them.  Relationships Beget Relationships: Why Understanding Attachment Theory is Crucial to Program Design for Homeless Youth explains why the healing power of unconditional support must often come first when assisting homeless youth in finding and maintaining stable housing and making a successful transition to adulthood.  This Special Topic Report has just been released by the California Homeless Youth Project, a collaboration between the State Library’s California Research Bureau (CRB) and the California Council on Youth Relations.
