2008/09 Local History Digital Resources Program application deadline is March 14th

The deadline for libraries to apply for Local History Digital Resources Program is March 14, 2008.  The Local History Digital Resources Program focuses on digitization of historical materials in libraries, and follows a "solution in a box" structure which includes training, image processing services, metadata creation tools, preservation services, customizable Web pages and a small grant award for collection development and other purchases related to the program.

Please note that although the California State Library has not yet received federal Library Services and Technology Act funds for 2008/2009 to support this program, the necessary efforts are underway. Also, due to potential budget reductions, the California State Library may need to reduce the number of libraries receiving funding.

Information and application forms are available on the California State Library web site at
http://www.library.ca.gov/grants/lsta/lsta_app_08_09.html.
