"How I See It: My Place" is a new program for California libraries sponsored by Califa and the California Council for the Humanities, and supported by the California State Library, that will provide all the resources librarians need to successfully implement a ten-week digital photography documentary project for teens – activities, equipment, supplies, funds and training. Twenty libraries will be selected to participate in the program, which will take place during summer and fall of 2008. An application will be available on the California Council for the Humanities website December 10, 2007, and the deadline is January 17, 2008. Decisions will be announced early in February 2008.

The project is supported in whole, or in part, by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act grant funds administered in California by the State Librarian.
