Here is a just-in account from State Librarian Susan Hildreth who is currently in Scotland at the annual meeting of the Public Libraries Group of the Chartered Institute of Library and Informational Professionals (CILIP) of the United Kingdom, Great Britain, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland:
I just attended the annual meeting of the Public Libraries Group of the Chartered Institute of Library and Informational Professionals (CILIP) of the United Kingdom, Great Britain, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. I was representing the Public Library Association. The meeting was held in the lovely city of Glasgow, Scotland. About 150 librarians attended the meeting with intriguing presentations at the 3-day session. We were even treated to authentic Scottish dancing. The similarity of concerns between US and UK libraries is amazing. 0f course there are interesting differences as well. More to follow. Susan Hildreth
