California Research Bureau Director Dean Misczynski received the 2006-2007 Government Innovation Award from the Sacramento/State Capital Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) at its annual awards banquet May 9. The Sacramento ASPA chapter honors individuals, organizations and programs that demonstrate significant achievements in public management and public service. Misczynski was honored for his leadership in fostering research-based policy seminars with partner academic and research organizations (including the Public Policy Institute of California, the New America Foundation, USC and UC, among others), thereby promoting an informed public policy dialogue in the State Capital. Seminar topics have included California’s business climate, the Sacramento-San Joaquin delta, and the changing characteristics of immigration.
